Victory Neighbourhood Services Inc. happily introduces the Victory Basketball Camp. The camp welcomes ages 10-15 and engages the players in a challenging and competitive environment where they will learn teamwork, communication and build self-confidence along the way. They will also learn technical basketball skills including dribbling, passing, ball handling, shooting, and offensive/defensive strategies.
Our camp is taught by qualified basketball instructors who have a thorough understanding of the game along with the strategies and techniques needed to perform well.
Our 2017 Basketball Program was held Roland Michener Public School. It began on July 4th and ended on August 2th.
Players ages 10-15, with or without experience in basketball, got to participate and engage in fun and active activities.
This year, each player was welcome to participate in three fun filled basketball tournaments and bi-weekly basketball practices - which was separated into age groups 10-12 and 13-15. All the players have learned valuable life skills such as teamwork and communication while enjoying and improving in their skills in basketball.
Our 2016 Victory Basketball Program was held at Roland Michener Public School. It began on July 18th and ended on August 12th.
Players, ages 11-16, with or without basketball experience, got to participate in a fun and active activities. All the players have learned new basketball skills and/or improved on their existing ones. They will also learn valuable life skills such as teamwork and communication. The players are taught by experienced basketball players in the local community who are motivated to make a difference in the kids lives.
On the last day of the program, the youth played one last basketball tournament against each other with Snapd Ajax to take pictures of the children in action. At the end, we celebrated with awards and a cake donated by Almost Perfect - a local grocer. It was a memorable afternoon for everyone involved.
We would like to give thanks to Boston Pizza, Dominos Pizza, Little Caesars, and McDonald's for donating lunch and drinks throughout the duration of the program - making it as enjoyable as possible for the youth participants.
Lastly, we would like to thank Their Opportunity for sponsoring this program and giving the youth of Durham an opportunity to learn many basketball and life skills.
VNS is looking to fund raise a new community space that we can use to help facilitate our programs and provide a safe and supportive environment for the children and youth in the Durham region.
