ABOUT US

Victory Neighbourhood Services Inc. (VNS) is a grassroots charitable organization started in 2008 that supports at-risk, low-income children and youth in Ajax and the wider Durham region.  We offer programs to encourage, empower and offer positive influences to children and youth, including a virtual counselling program, summer basketball camps and a Christmas dinner. 

Our focus is on mentoring children and young people and developing their skills, talents and potential.  VNS provides opportunities for youth to come together to have positive, fun experiences while fostering leadership skills and empowering them to develop a sense of communal and social responsibility.

Founder Veronica Vernon, (known to all as Sister V) has lived and worked in Ajax for more than 30 years and has dedicated her life to helping the residents of her community.  

Sister V also runs VV’s Adult Support Centre, which assists isolated seniors in the community with daycare and drop-in programs.

In 2020, Victory Neighbourhood Services ran 215 hours of programming from June to December, reaching 250 children and youth between the ages of 4 and 20.
