Throughout the year, Victory Neighbourhood Services Inc. hosts several youth related events to both raise awareness for the youth in the community along with inviting them to social events such as the Free Christmas Dinner. These events have taken place for several years and have been very successful in achieving their goals. Come experience them for yourself!
Check out more information about our events down below.
Every year since 2006, Victory Neighbourhood Services Inc. hosts a free Christmas Dinner, filled with delicious food and friendly servers, for the community's youths. The dinner has always garnered attendance of honoured guests such as MPP Joe Dickson and Margarett Best and is honoured to be backed by several generous sponsors such as TD Bank, Deer Creak Golf & Banquet Facility, OPG, Dickson Printing, Veridian, and many others.
The dinner welcomes any youths from ages 13 to 19 in the community and encourages them to meet one another, mingle, and share cultural values and customs with each other. Attracting hundreds of local youths in the past, this event has become a staple in the Ajax community but all youths from any area are warmly welcome to come and participate.
This is a great opportunity for newcomers to the Ajax community to meet new people and make valuable friendships. In addition, you will get to enjoy a free dinner alongside it all! Come join us at Christmas time for a wonderful evening of joy and holiday bliss!
Every year since 2006, Victory Neighbourhood Services Inc. has held a Crime Prevention Concert across the municipality of Durham region to raise awareness of the potential dangers associated with at-risk youths and what we, as a society and community, can do to prevent it. The concert has appearances of notable guests and speakers such as MP Mark Holland and members from the Durham Regional Police.
The concert is aimed to create recognition for the youths in the community and to generate solutions, such as after-school programs, that would help reduce the amount of youth related crimes. In addition, it also raises awareness for youth related issues or issues in everyday life that can affect the youths and why they might be the cause for youths to choose to pursue a life of crime.
As a concert, there are number of excellent performances that are both informative and entertaining. Previous concerts held performances by the TC3 Toronto Children's Concert Choir, VV's dance group, and many more!
Victory Neighbourhood Services Inc. wishes to continue this concert so we continue to bring awareness towards the youths in the community. Any funds raised from the concert are used to fund after-school programs for the youths. We hope to establish the beginning of the solution for the issues brought to light and set a precedence for further advancements in youth advocacy.
Victory Neighbourhood Services Inc. holds an annual fundraiser to help fund the programs that we provide while contributing and maintaining our efforts in continuous community outreach. A lot of effort and hard work is poured into the programs and events to keep the youth involved and to spread awareness of its goals as a community organization.
VNS is looking to fund raise a new community space that we can use to help facilitate our programs and provide a safe and supportive environment for the children and youth in the Durham region.
